{Color Palette} New Year’s Toast

Daydream-In-Color-Color-Palette-New-Years-Toast

We have no crazy plans to ring in the new year, but these almost pink ombre drinks with gold stirrers may still be on the menu at our place (via Swoon).

Any New Year’s Eve plans?

OK. When you start planning things like a wedding or even a party, you (and by you I really mean I) start daydreaming in the strangest things. Maybe a picture caught your eye and you can’t get it out of your head. Suddenly, you’re interested in buying sequin cloth by the bolt. I mean we can all use some, right? To justify my sudden crazy need, I’ve included some inspiration above. Don’t you just love the subtle glimmer in the light?

PS: If you really want sequin cloth by the yard, I found some here in all sorts of colors. (I told you I wasn’t exaggerating.) Also, it looks like JoAnn’s stocks sequin cloth as well for cheaper, but less colors.

Are you a fan of sequin cloth?

Little Break!

I’ll be back on Tuesday 9/17 with more colorful inspiration! We scored free tickets to see Chris Fiarbanks at Helium Comedy Club on Saturday. Plus, truthfully, the house needs some good ol’ TLC! Also, we went to a beautiful family wedding and dahlia festival last weekend so I have flowers on the brain (thus the photo). Hope ya’ll enjoy the weekend!

PS: If you’re in need of some reading the Fall issue of Sweet Paul just came out!

DIY Bunny Garland | Stuffed Pink Bunny by Sian (On Sale $18) | Gold Feet Bunny Placecard Holders ($28/6)

I just got engaged last Sunday. It was a total surprise and I’m so excited! But, now the wedding planning. So many ideas/thoughts are running through my head. Our love for our pet bunny Jake will hopefully be something we incorporate. I love these cute little touches. I’ve been eyeing all these things for a while, but now I might have a reason to splurge! PS: Here’s an old post with more bunny inspiration.

Today is my Dad’s birthday. So, these “virtual balloons” are dedicated to him. Plus, they make an awesome color palette. (Photo by Natsuki Photography)

I’ve finally stopped being so obsessed with gardening lately and it’s not because I’m no longer interested. Crows and squirrels have been digging up everything I’ve been planting lately and not even to eat them. Just to sabotage! I caught a squirrel lifting up a plant I just put into the ground and rolling around in the loose dirt and then I saw crows nipping the tips of my lilies and roses and gourds that were just about to bloom and throwing them aside. But at times like these, I need to remind myself that they’re just wild animals and look at pretty pictures of them before I have dreams of buying a BB gun.

Are you a bird fan? Have you caught them digging up your garden?

With Summer Solstice on Friday, I’m thinking hot hot hot sunshine! I can’t seem to get these beautifully warm sunset hues out of my head. Deep pink to orange to yellows. They are really putting me in the summer mood. If you’re into this, you might also like the pink and yellow or pink and red combos too.

Do you like this color combo?

It’s finally Friday & I see the sun also finally peeking through my window blinds. We are heading to IKEA after work for a Swedish Midsummer! We stumbled upon it by accident last year & really enjoyed it. One of my fave summer fruits is watermelon. So today’s post is dedicated to this yummy treat that also happens to be quite stylish in sparkly form!

What’s your favorite summer fruit?

{Lust List} Monet’s Garden

Daydream-In-Color-Lust-List-Monets-Garden

I’ve always been obsessed with being obsessed. It’s not even on purpose. I go through phases of wanting to know every single thing about __(insert a topic)__. After the phase passes, I still revisit it form time to time, but it’s nothing like when it first starts. At the moment, I’m obsessed with flowers, flower arranging, and all things gardening. I can’t even say how many books I’ve checked out from the library in an attempt to become an expert! If you want some serious eye candy, get Flower Recipe Book by the ladies of Studio Choo.

I’ve been thumbing through nursery and seed catalogs like a drug daily and my colorful self can’t seem to get over flowers in every shade of every color. That’s why these dahilas and tulips inspired by Monet’s Garden as well as these adorably fragrant grape hyacinths are catching my eye for Fall planting. Is it bad that I’ve already order 2 of the 3 collections above?

Are you a fan of flowers and gardening? What are your favorite flowers?
