{Freebie Friday} Fruit Stationery

With yesterday’s Daydream In Fruits post, I’m daydreaming of laying in the warm weather and writing to catch up with all my friends. I thought I’d share some summer stationery perfect for the occasion! If you end up throwing a fruit themed party, these would be so cute for favors!

Supplies:

  • Template
  • Printer
  • Paper (plain printer paper works well for this since multiple sheets may be used for a letter)
  • Scissors or paper cutter
  • Envelopes (A7 for no folding of the stationery sheets)
  • Ribbon, seals, or other trimmings to decorate for a gift set

Directions:

  1. Click the template to open.
  2. Print on desired paper. These would be cute printed on kraft paper or on colored paper too.
  3. Cut along the solid rectangles around each sheet. There are 2 per printed paper.
  4. Pair them with envelopes and seals for a gift set. Tie them all together with ribbon or twine. Tie on a couple of embellishments like vintage buttons for fun.

{Freebie Friday} Sherbet Stripe Party Set

You may remember the Ombre Tulip Party Set I had on my blog last year inspired by these beautiful tulip fields. Well, today I’m inspired by ice cream and sherbet and a couple of my favorite colors this season, coral and aquamarine. Definitely wearing my aquamarine pants right now as I type.

Not only are there stripey invites for all those Spring/Summer parties, but there are place cards, placemats, thank you cards perfect for anytime, and a really adorable ice cream garland tutorial! The only thing missing from the party is some ice cream, friends, and sunshine!

In case you’re curious, we got some french vanilla ice cream, english toffee, Dancing Deer Co. peanut butter brownies, and Stonewall Kitchen dark chocolate sea salt caramel sauce ($7) for this little shindig. That sauce. OMG. A described it as melting down our favorite chocolate covered sea salt caramels from Fran’s. So good! I could seriously have this combo for dessert everyday.

What are you planning on using this sherbet stripe set for? Are you planning any parties?

Supplies:

  • Templates
  • White card stock
  • Scissors/Paper cutter
  • String and adhesive (for garland only)
  • Optional: scoring tool

Directions:

  1. Click desired template download link to open.
  2. Print template on cardstock.
  3. Fold along dotted lines, if applicable.
  4. Cut out along solid lines.
  5. Final touches:
    • For invitation, fill out information and mail to your friends in an A7 emvelope.
    • For place cards, write your guests’ names in the scalloped area and place at their chair. These can be used to label your food too.
    • For the place mat, cut along the outer edge of colors and place under your guests’ plates/bowls/cutlery. These can also be used as the table runner if placed along the center of the table.
    • For the ice cream cone garland, follow the picture directions below.
    • For thank you cards, write in the card and mail to your friends in an A2 envelope.

  1. Supplies
  2. Cut out template and arrange into cones. I sandwiched two circles so that it would be colored on both sides as it twirled.
  3. Open your arranged cones with white side facing up and apply adhesive (around the edges and down the center).
  4. Place string in the center of your shape. Continue until you reach the length you desire.
  5. Hang on the wall or around the table. I used washi tape to stick it to the wall.

{Freebie Friday} Message Flip Books

I remember making flips books in art class when I was young. I made one of a bursting star and I thought they were just about the coolest things ever. I wanted to incorporate this fun in a little message flip book. These would be so cute as a card substitute, the thank you’s as part of the favors for a kid’s party, or just to brighten someone’s day. You can’t go wrong. Everyone reverts back to a smiling kid when a flip book is involved!

Supplies:

  • Template
  • Cardstock and/or copy paper
  • Scissors or paper cutter
  • Stapler
  • Decorative tape
  • Optional: Pliers

Directions:

  1. Click on template to open.
  2. Print onto card stock.
    • If you are making a bunch, you can just print the cover on card stock & the pages on copy paper.
  3. Cut along solid lines.
    • This is the perfect job for a paper cutter because all the liens are straight. You can also cut through several papers at once.
  4. Place a cover set around each set of pages and straighten.
  5. Staple the edge of the pages together.
  6. Flatten the staple with pliers, if desired, and cover with decorative tape.
  7. Flip through & smile!

{Freebie Friday} Neon Yellow Floral Mother’s Day Card

My mom is a lucky duck travelling through Europe right now giving lectures and enjoying her time there, so I won’t get to see her this Mother’s Day. I thought it’d be nice to send her a card so it’s waiting for her when she gets back though. I was inspired by the Daydream In Neon Yellow post and decided to doodle some flowers in this bright hue for this card.

If you’re more into hearts, check out last year’s card.

Supplies:

  • Template
  • Card stock
  • Scissors
  • Optional: 6 1/2″ square envelope

Directions:

  1. Click on template below to open.
  2. Print on card stock.

{Make & Munch} Refresh Bannered Straws & Rosemary Water

I know you’re thinking. Where had that {Make & Munch} series gone? I was bursting at the seams with ideas and even began designing printables. Then life and work got a hold of me, so I was never able to shoot any pictures or make the fun recipes I had been so eagerly creating.

Well, I’m back today with a really simple idea. It’s a great way to stay hydrated especially with the warmer seasons on its way (or so I hope!) and the craft is perfect for any get together. We had it with homemade pizza (recipe to come) one night and it was delish!

 Refresh Bannered Straws

Supplies:

  • Template
  • Colored or patterned paper
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Straws

 Directions:

  1. Print the template onto desired colored or patterned paper.
  2. Cut along the solid gray lines.
  3. Punch holes at the marked X’s.
  4. Weave banner onto straws through the punched holes.
  5. Stick into your favorite drink or display them in a cup alongside cool drinks for your guests to enjoy.

Note: I printed the gray template on yellow paper inspired by my Daydream In Gray & Yellow post.

{Freebie Friday} Plant-A-Grams

I recently came across Williams-Sonoma‘s new agrarian section & discovered these really cute Plant-A-Grams. I thought I’d share for those gardeners out there planning an edible garden! They’d even be cute framed together as a print. Find them here.

You can label your newly planned garden with these free colorful markers.

{Freebie Friday} Spring Plant Markers

Although we don’t have much of a warm spring here in Portland, Oregon, I do enjoy seeing the little young shoots coming through the ground and blossoms beginning to unfurl their petals. Their bright colors rejuvinate me like nothing else. You may remember from past posts that I am horrible as growing things, but everyone else I know is pretty much amazing at it. I thought I’d dedicate a printable to you growers out there. You can print and cut these out and glue them on coffee stirrers or popsicle sticks and you have yourself a colorful garden even if they haven’t started sprouting yet!

{Make And Munch} Frilly Toothpicks & A Biscuit Sandwich

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching so I thought I’d share one of my favorite indulgences. Breakfast in bed! There’s nothing quite like staying in those warm sheets especially with all the cold weather lately. This would be such a treat for your sweetie on Valentine’s Day. You could even do a brunch version of this with friends. Just set out a bunch of blankets and pillows and serve everyone on little trays. I love casual get togethers because everyone’s relaxed and more likely to have fun.

I wanted to debut a blog series today called Make & Munch. A fun craft to make and a delicious recipe to munch on. Pretty much my favorite activities ever. I have a quick tutorial for frilly toothpicks to go with a very simple breakfast sandwich recipe today.

FRILLY TOOTHPICK

Supplies:

  • Toothpicks
  • Crepe or tissue paper
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive

Directions:

  1. Cut a strip of crepe or tissue paper.
  2. Fold it in half several times (so you don’t have to make as many cuts).
  3. Cut frills into one side of the paper and leave the other side connected.
  4. Unfold your strip of paper.
  5. Cut a small piece of frilled paper and apply adhesive against the uncut side.
  6. Place your toothpick at the start of the paper and beginning rolling tightly onto the toothpick.
  7. Continue with the rest of your toothpicks to make as many as you need!

EGG & AVOCADO BISCUIT SANDWICH FOR 2

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 avocado, soft to the touch
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 biscuits (packaged or homemade)
  • Mayo or your favorite spread (I used prepackaged spinach dip because that’s what I had on hand)
  • Salt, pepper, & any other spices or herbs you have on hand
  • Optional: Cheese (cheddar, pepper jack, brie) or meat (ham, bacon, veggie sausage)

Directions:

  1. Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk with salt, pepper, and your favorite spices or herbs. I opted for some smoked paprika, but dill or cilantro would’ve been yummy.
  2. Preheat the oven if you are baking premade biscuits. Pop in your biscuits to bake or heat up. Remove when done.
  3. Heat a small frying pan over medium heat. Pour half of the beaten eggs into the pan. Use a spatula to loosen the cooked egg along the edges. Place on a plate once cooked through. Repeat for the second half of the beaten eggs.
  4. Cut up the tomato and avocado into slices. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cut or pull your biscuit in half.
  6. Spread mayo or your favorite spread (I used prepackaged spinach dip) onto the biscuit.
  7. Layer the egg, avocado, tomato, and cheese/protein, if using, onto the open biscuit and top with the other half.
  8. Stick a frilly toothpick in it to keep it all together for serving.
