I never really thought much about disco balls, but now when I see them in the most uncommon places I want like 20 just hanging from the ceiling or to stand on in this case. The sparkle catching globes just scream fun! Now where can I inconspicuously sneak some into the house. Maybe the “music” room?

Spring in Oregon is often a waiting game. It’s that big rainy lull between winter (often bright but just cold) and the amazing summers. A got me a really bright umbrella (similar to the one in this post) for my birthday to cheer me up when skies are gray. This floral one would also do the trick! I know pastels are a little too sweet for some, but I can’t help it. I’m drawn to them. I love my pinks, mints, and lavenders. This Melbourne home designed by interior decorator Hecker Guthrie really hits the spot. Its light touches of pastel here and there make me so happy.

There is a group of girls in Portland that we run into from time to time that call themselves cupcakes. They dress in really fancy Japanese anime/tea party style and go to events in a group. We spotted them once at ChocolateFest and another time at this bakery/cafe in Sellwood that’s done up a la Candyland. These are definitely some stocking I imagine they would go gaga for!

A used to love to ice skate. His dream is to drag me to the rink. My only experience on the ice was in 4th grade when I went with my friend thinking I could pick it up and her dad ended up having to lead me in the outer beginner ring where you cling to the sides. It was embarrassing to say the least. I’ve been fearful, but dreams of looking cute bundled up and taking retro style photos is quite good encouragement.

As you may know I don’t have a green thumb, but having a yard for the first time with room to grow, I’m dreaming big (maybe a little too big). Armed with a bunch of beautiful seed packets by BFF gave me in a pretty orange lacquer box, hours of research online on how to sprout seeds, and a potential purchase of a ton of grow lights and heating mats, I may finally attempt this big brown thumb hurdle of mine. We’ll see. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll blame it on not having a beautiful pretty greenhouse like the one above.

I seriously can’t believe it’s almost the ides of March. Creamy yellow daffodils have sprung up in our front yard and Spring is a knockin’. Plant and gardening catalogs have me dreaming of what colors I could make my backyard. Right now I’m stuck on the beautifully brilliant shade of pink in this lovely photo.
